Management


ArrAy is led by a proven management team with decades of software engineering and business management experience. The company was founded in 1999 and is privately held and owned by management. Charles Palmer and Allen Deary founded ArrAy with a vision of creating a different kind of software engineering services company. A unique alternative to traditional outsourcing and contract staffing firms, ArrAy delivers a strategic engineering advantage that helps clients reduce time-to-market and benefit from the highest level of quality at the lowest possible cost.


Charles J. Palmer, Founder and Co-CEO
Charlie Palmer focuses his attention primarily on the areas of sales, marketing and strategic relationships. He has leveraged his 30 years of experience to build a unique business model at ArrAy and is now concentrating on growing the business through client acquisition and partnerships. Prior to co-founding ArrAy, Palmer was President and CEO of Gentia Software Inc., where he tripled revenues and attained profitability within the first two years. He also spent 20 years at Comshare where he served as Senior Vice President of North American Operations. He successfully transitioned Comshare from a timesharing business into an industry-leading software and services company. Palmer holds a B.S. degree in Economics from Boston College.

Allen Deary, Founder and Co-CEO
Allen Deary focuses on service methodologies, delivery strategies and corporate culture. Before co-founding ArrAy, Deary co-founded Peritus Software Services, Inc. in 1991. He served as both CFO and CEO of Peritus and led a highly successful IPO of the company in 1997. Prior to Peritus, he served as Director of Worldwide Product Development at Honeywell-Bull. Deary also worked at Apollo Computer, where he held a number of financial positions including Controller of Customer Support. He holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Northeastern University.

Tom Trometer, Chief Financial Officer
Tom Trometer is responsible for the financial management of ArrAy's operations. In this role he provides oversight for the financial management of the business, directs the corporate treasury function, establishes the protocols and standards for internal reporting and assists in building the business model and plan for the company. He has over 25 years experience, and was previously VP Finance and CFO of CableSoft, where he was instrumental in raising capital and selling the company to Motorola. Trometer was also VP of Finance and Treasurer of Opta Food Ingredients, a public company, and was instrumental in raising over $40M in equity funds. He was also a manager in the Middle Market and Growing Companies Division of Price Waterhouse Coopers. He is a CPA with a B.S. in accounting from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY.

Michael Brown, Vice President of Delivery
With in-depth knowledge of the processes and daily rigors of product engineering, Brown is instrumental in the definition and delivery of services at ArrAy. The cornerstone of the core engineering team that began ArrAy, Brown continues to apply his knowledge and skills to new customer acquisition, account management and team leadership. He brings to ArrAy over 25 years' experience managing talented engineers. He served as Vice President of Outsourcing at Peritus Software Services, where he successfully directed multi-million dollar engagements. Prior to Peritus, he spent 19 years at Prime/Computervision where as Director of Product Engineering he guided 250 engineers in the design and release of high-end minicomputers. Brown attended Northeastern University and Bentley College.

Charles Kaliris, Director of Sales
Charles Kaliris is an experienced professional with over 25 years of high technology industry experience in the disciplines of sales, business development and finance. Prior to joining ArrAy, he served as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Rovia, an emerging leader of secure distribution of electronic content. He has also served in senior sales and business development positions at WorldStreet, NovaSoft, Lernout and Hauspie and Inso Corporation. At Inso, he was responsible for new sales and account management for the largest and most influential companies in the industry, including Microsoft, IBM, Yahoo and Oracle. He has also held senior sales positions at Digital Equipment Corporation and began his career working in Digital's finance organization. Kaliris has an M.B.A. from Northeastern University and a B.S. in Accountancy from Bentley College.

Rick Maltin, Director of Sales
Rick Maltin is a proven software executive and, as a former VP of Software Engineering, he understands the challenges product development companies face and the value that our unique outsourced software engineering services can bring to these companies. He has extensive experience in the software industry and is an expert in enterprise and IT infrastructure markets. In addition, Maltin has launched several CRM companies and previously held management positions with ChorusWare, Versant, Pixion, SalesNOW!, CSO Forum, Market Power. CompuCraft, Xerox and Honeywell. He holds a B.S. in Physics and Mathematics from Fairleigh Dickinson University and an M.S. in Physics from Stevens Institute of Technology and New York University.

Hwa-Pyng Tzeng, Vice President of Offshore Development
Before joining ArrAy, Hwa-Pyng Tzeng was the Director of Network Management for Verizon Data Service, responsible for system and solution development. He developed and managed several large-scale network management solutions. He has over 18 years of IT development and management experience. Before joining Verizon Laboratories (formally GTE Labs), he worked for several software development companies, including Peritus Software Services, Bull Information Systems and Parametric Technology. He received his B.S. degree from National Taiwan University and his M.S. degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Xiaomin Zheng, Director of Engineering Services, ArrAy China
Xiaomin Tzeng joined ArrAy in 2005 as the Director of Engineering Services for ArrAy China. He has 10 years of technical and management experience in the IT industry. Prior to joining ArrAy, he worked on a number of high-profile telecommunication systems for Verizon Communications, including network management and trouble ticketing systems. Prior to Verizon, Zheng developed state-of-the-art GUI-based storage management software for EMC. He earned his M.S. degree in Computer Science from State University of New York at Albany and a B.S. degree in Computer Science from University of Science & Technology of China.
